![]() I guess that's one way to tease gamers for the inevitable sequel but. ![]() Once it's over, you'll get to watch a somewhat lengthy scene with the main cast of Final Fantasy VII Remake but I was so invested in Yuffie's story that it was disappointing that she wasn't in these epilogue scenes. I understand that it's a short piece of DLC but (without giving much away), it just sort of ends after some rushed dramatic scenes. With all of these great things in mind, Episode Intermission's story is kind of lackluster. Anyway, it's essentially a 1-on-1 tower defense board game and I found mastering it to be quite a treat as outsmarting the tougher opponents can take a few attempts to accomplish. The biggest addition is a full-on mini-game known as Fort Condor which is of course a reference to the town and its corresponding mini-game from the original game. One is a timed box-smashing mini-game and another involves collecting flyers across the Midgar slums which actually reveals little story tidbits and rewards you with nifty materia, too. One aspect of Episode Intermission that I absolutely loved is the fact that it contains a few substantial pieces of optional content. They should really make Fort Condor a full-fledged spin-off The fact that people don't seem to take her seriously only makes her personality more endearing. This gameplay style goes perfectly hand-in-hand with Yuffie's personality as she's energetic and often to a boisterous extent. For example, throwing her boomerang-style weapon which swarms enemies only to unleash projectile ninja attacks whenever it's deployed feels awesome! You can also warp to it and start to beat up enemies old-school whenever you want, too. She's extremely agile and her attacks make her the most fun to play as in the entire Final Fantasy VII Remake cast. The first thing that struck me about Episode Intermission is just how well Yuffie controls. After that, they go on a mission to steal the ultimate materia from Shinra. Upon reaching her contacts, you're introduced to a small group of characters with the most notable of which being fellow ninja Sonon who becomes your sole ally shortly into the DLC. After being invited to Midgar to assist Avalanche, Yuffie soon finds herself lost within the dilapidated outskirts of the city. ![]() ![]() Starring the clumsy ninja Yuffie, Episode Intermission is exactly as the title implies a simple story that takes place during the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Final Fantasy VII Remake Review Who knew whacking crates could be so stressful? Episode Intermission PlayStation 5 ★★★★☆ To round things off, it features gorgeous visuals, a wonderful recreated soundtrack, fantastic acting, and loads of optional content to master. On top of that, its combat is accomplished through a real-time action-intense system which can be impressively challenging. With that being said, it features some additional story elements that are quite mind-blowing so it's not a simple retelling of the same old tale. v1d30chumz 78-26-147-81įinal Fantasy VII Remake is not a remake in the traditional sense as it's only for the first part of Final Fantasy VII within Midgar.
